Cities in Indonesia are being driven into a city committed to implement Human Rights or the Human Rights city, such as Bandung in April 2015.

This Bandung's commitment was presented at the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference. Meanwhile, the Human Rights Charter of Bandung city was inaugurated in December 2015. Human Rights City is one of the UN's mandate, as the implementation of respect for human rights by the local government. The purpose of the establishment of human rights city is to improve the quality of community life based on human rights norms and standards.

Foundation for International Human Rights Reporting Standards (FIHRRST) becomes one of the agencies that encourages the formation of human rights city. This agency is assisted by the city government of Bandung, as well as Community of Human Rights of Faculty of Law Padjadjaran University.

"To realize the Human Rights city being able to be a vehicle delivering to the goal of human rights fulfillment of urban communities, this requires shared understanding of definition and the composing process of Human Rights city, " said Bahtiar Manurung, FIHRRST Operations Director.
